Chips and salsa, name a more iconic duo. From almost the beginning of time Texans have enjoyed a delicious serving or two (or 5, let’s be honest) of chips and salsa while patiently anticipating their meal. Today we set out to find the best pair of chips and salsa that would accompany TexaCola in a trio made in heaven.
The chips we found best suited for this task were Julio’s Corn Tortilla Chips. If you’re from Texas, chances are you’ve heard of this legend. Currently distributed out of Del Rio, Texas these chips created by Julio T. Garcia are seasoned with a Tex-Mex mix of garlic, paprika, cumin and lime giving it a taste like no other.
The salsa we decided to pair these chips with was Mark’s Good Stuff. This salsa is made in Austin, Texas and comes in many different variations. The flavor we tried today was their Medium Salsa which was not too spicy and not too mild.
This locally produced chips and salsa duo could not have complimented the unique Texas inspired flavors of TexaCola more perfectly. This trio will have you wishing your entree never comes.
