We all know and love bees. Our world wouldn't be the same without them. Bees pollinate flowers and make honey but they are so much more than that. Bees are amazing creatures and we'd like to share some of our favorite bee fun facts!
1.) The sound of a bee buzzing comes from their wings which beat 200 times a second!
2.) A bee will visit 50-100 different flowers on one pollen collecting trip.
3.) The queen bee is the only bee that lays eggs, and there's only one queen per hive.
4.) Approximately 1/3rd of the food we eat is the result of bee pollination.
5.) A bee has a lifespan of only 6-8 weeks.
6.) A bee will make 1/12th of a tablespoon of honey in its lifetime.
7.) Bees communicate with each other by dancing!
8.) A bee can fly as fast as 15 miles per hour.
9.) A queen bee can lay up to 2,500 eggs a day.
10.) Beekeeping dates back at least 4,500 years ago.
