Updated: Feb 8, 2019

Southside Craft Soda and local distributor Hops and Vines sign distribution agreement to cover San Antonio and twenty-two surrounding counties.

San Antonio, Texas - Southside Craft Soda, San Antonio's only locally owned and bottled craft soda, signed a distribution agreement with beverage industry veterans Hops & Vines (H&V). Founded in 2015 in Central Texas, H&V prides itself in working with local and regional craft beers and wines. The companies will begin selling and distributing in a territory that covers 22 counties including the greater San Antonio metropolitan area. Southside Craft Soda will be H&V's first non-alcoholic beverage.

"Southside Craft Soda has taken great pride in re-establishing a locally owned soda brand here in San Antonio. This historic moment in the local and regional beverage scene requires bringing on partners that share in the same passion and commitment in delivering great products to customers here and abroad," states Andrew M. Anguiano, CEO, Southside Craft Soda. Anguiano hopes that this deal propels the beverage company but also provides a platform to tell the story of the flavors that make South Texas unique. "South Texas is rich in culture and our Tex-Mex culinary heritage is renowned worldwide. We believe our sodas capture the essence of that," concluded Anguiano.

Southside Craft Soda was founded in 2017 by Andrew Anguiano and Gregg Spickler. The duo first met while being a part of the opening team for Alamo Beer Company's brewery. Anguiano handled marketing and Spickler was a lead brewer. After a chance meeting reconnected them, the soda idea was floated around and their first honey infused carbonated beverage was introduced that Winter. In 2018, local entrepreneur, Rob Rodriguez became a partner and solidified the operations. Today the company has plans to produce close to 16,000 cases this year and is in the process of developing a flavor house and headquarters on Mission Road along the historic Mission Trail.
