New: Limoncito Embraces Texas Mexican Roots

Updated: May 19, 2021

San Antonio, Texas - Living on the Southside of San Antonio, Co-Founder and CEO, Andrew M. Anguiano is surrounded by local Tex-Mex restaurants and Mexican style fruterias. The regional fusion of ingredients creates savory dishes that have become favorites throughout the country. With its spanglish "Hecho en Texas" on the label, Limoncito embraces the culinary tradition of bringing Texas and Mexico together.

"We have big flavor around here. Sweet, savory, sour you name it, we have it," states Anguiano. Southside Craft Soda was founded along the San Antonio River in the shadow of a 17th Century Spanish-era Mission. "Our Limoncito was created with these flavors in mind. It's more than a drink, it's a way to share our local heritage," he concluded.

The flavor profile features lemon, local honey, pure cane sugar and a hint of lime. The combination gives the soda a full-body and refreshing, sweet, light taste. Based on an agua fresca (sweetened fresh fruit drink), Limoncito is a perfect complement to savory and spicy dishes, it mixes well with a variety of spirits and is designed to be a refreshing drink for the hot and humid temperatures of the area.

The product is in limited distribution and plans are to grow locally and follow in the footsteps of the company's first product TexaCola.

TexaCola was launched in February and has quickly gotten traction throughout Texas. Major grocery chains, H-E-B and Central Market carry the cola and various other bars, restaurants and retailers. TexaCola is available in San Antonio, Austin, Houston, South Texas and in select locations in the Dallas/Fort Worth area.

A third flavor will be added to the portfolio later in November. For more information about Southside Craft Soda, please visit www.southsidecraftsoda.com.
